Terry Denson’s works display the vibrant colors of the Caribbean, the Southwest, and Florida as well as the more muted tones of Maine and the Chesapeake Bay.
She tries to capture her personal reactions to fleeting images of beauty, making them permanent and thus capable of being shared.
She seeks to capture the dramatic contrast between color-saturated subjects and deep shadows. Strong light and shadow; pure, clean color; contrast of texture, color, intensity, value, and temperature are her goals for each painting.
Watercolors are her primary media but she also paints in acrylics and oils. Her large format watercolor paintings of tropical foliage are in high demand.
She displays at art festivals and exhibitions throughout Florida and the United States where she receives frequent awards.
