Our classes are a little bit of everything, and something for everyone at all levels of expertise.
Many of the classes are on-going - you can start a class whenever it is most convenient for you. Feel free to contact the instructors for class registration and more information.

Open studio every Tuesday, all day, in the Libit Jones Art Studio. Come and paint with other Suntan members, in the morning, the afternoon, or all day.

DRAWING
DRAWING - Back to Basics

These classes emphasize the basics of drawing and sketching using the elements of art and principles of design. Each session will have instruction, handout, time for drawing exercises & discussion.
PAINTING
ADVANCED PAINTING

Each artist in this class sets his/her own goals, often working in a series as most professional artists do. We start with a critique each morning, after which the artists will paint, and occasional creative lessons. Acrylic &/or mixed media.
ADVANCED OIL PAINTING

This class is for artists that have some experience with portrait painting in either oil or acrylic & want to continue to develop their skills. This class starts with a demo, followed by studio time. Students work from live models, still-lifes or photographs.
BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE

This class will work primarily with acrylic paints, along with some fun creative experimental techniques. Color and painting design will be taught in a way that everyone can understand, and introduction to watercolor.
FIGURE PAINTING

Class starts with critique, followed by a new lesson designed to challenge & help each artist progress rapidly. Occasionally, the artists will bring something that he/she wants to work on. Each artist works to develop his/her own personal style.

Soak up the beautiful FL weather while honing your painting skills & gaining confidence. You'll learn how to set yourself up for success outdoors, and then we'll focus on values, color & composition as the keys to good plein air painting. We'll paint around Suntan & nearby beach communities. When it's rainy or cold, we'll meet indoors. Class is designed for oil & acrylic painters. All levels welcome.
