MEMBER ART SHOWS

Every month, the Suntan Art Center sponsors an art show exclusively for our talented members to exhibit their work. Each show is juried with prize ribbons and cash awarded to the winners at our opening reception.

The Fine Print

  1. Members' shows are open to all current members in good standing.

  2. Art is to be delivered during our monthly Art Exchange on the Friday before the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and the first Saturday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  3. All hanging art must be correctly wired for hanging. Serrated hooks are not permitted. There is an additional $5 fee per piece to wire and hang art unprepared. 

  4. Frames must be in adequate condition, with the artwork secured inside the frame.

    • Glass must be clean with no visible chips or blemishes.

    • Matting must be free of stains and discoloration.

  5. Visible edges of gallery-wrapped canvases must be finished. Unframed canvases with exposed staples will not be accepted.

  6. Generally, members can submit up to TWO (2) pieces per show, if both pieces are 20x20" or smaller, or ONE (1) piece if larger than 20x20". Maximum size is 30x40". Some shows may have different limitations. 

  7. There is a $5 hanging fee per piece for member shows. Prize ribbons & sometimes, cash prizes) are awarded. If we receive enough entries, then we will have a photo category, and a 3d (fine craft) category. Open Shows & Awards Shows may have different fees & prizes.

  8. Suntan Art Center retains 30% commission on all gallery sales. Please note paintings sold for shipping will incur handling fees or the shipping will be between the artist and the purchaser to work out after the initial sale.
